Hacking

Perhaps what you are doing is “something else.”

Truthfully if MIT defines hacking as thus. Then why has the population decided to define it differently. Where once, it was just breaking down (hacking at) code to make it work the way one wants it. (MIT.) Now it includes even grotesque production of illegal behavior. Potentially thus, hacking is potentially the wrong word for it.

At this point even “black hat” hackers are scratching their heads. At what point does an individual, let alone the masses, do something about the “those are not hackers, those are something else?” That’s crazy at this point. What are they supposed to call themselves?! How does even the “darkest hacker” redefine themselves with due course to the purpose.
